I also got a call from this number - the fact that they knew I have a Telkom data sim and which bank I am with, what the amount of my expired contract was, etc is very concerning. Sounded very convincing. Only when he said that he needs my card number together with the expiry date did I realize that this is a scam as bank agents send a verification request link to your online banking to verify your account, not your card number

Guy called staying hê was from ABSA fraud division. Called ID warned of possible scam.

Guy phoned me this morning trying to scam me with a story about a mtn router and wanted to know when last i downloaded bank statements, i told him it's not information i will give out and he told me FxxK YOU and dropped the call, i blocked the caller but doesn't give me option to report it
